New to Avon?

We can’t wait to meet you.

Your presence, experiences, and voice are a beautiful addition to our community.

Sunday Services

10:00am in the Small Gym at Stratford Intermediate School (60 St. Andrew Street)

A Typical Sunday

We usually begin with worship music, followed by a short message by a pastor, a community member or a guest speaker. We hope each teaching time leaves you feeling encouraged & challenged to look at the world a little differently.

At the start of the message, our MC will dismiss Nursery - Grade 5 children to their programs. Parents are welcome to walk with them or send them on their own with the teachers.

You and your family are welcome to bring anything that will make you feel more comfortable. You belong here exactly as you are, and with whatever you need to feel at home.

Tithing, is a fancy word meaning to contribute, it is an opportunity to contribute financially to the ministry of Avon, the work we do in our city, and with our partners around the world. There is never an obligation to give.

Come as You Are.

We don't care how you dress, what your background is, who you vote for, what your theology is, or whether you've ever heard of the word theology.

You are welcome here. The real you.

We're not into pretending or acting like we have all our stuff together. We don't have all the answers. What you'll find here is a God and a community we can all be authentic with.

Want to Get Connected?

Music at Avon

We are fortunate to have many talented musicians in our congregation.

Sometimes we have a full band leading us with instruments like guitars, drums, violin, or trombone, and sometimes it’s just the guitar and us.

Each Sunday of the month we have a different leader who brings their own flavour. We value diversity at Avon so we like that our worship is different each week - we sing hymns, modern praise songs and everything in between.

We want you to be comfortable to worship in your own way: feel free to stand, move, dance, sing along, or just sit and listen.

Young Families

Your children belong here. Exactly as they are.

Let your kids be kids! We don’t mind if they colour or sit on the floor during the service. Many bring colouring books and small toys for their kids, you are welcome to do the same.

During the message, children in JK - Grade 5 are dismissed to join in a fun-filled program that emphasizes relationships. We also offer a Nursery during the message. Our volunteers are background-checked, safety-trained, and amazing at empowering students to share the voice that God has given them.

Youth (Grade 6 - 12)

Youth belong here. Exactly as they are.

Avon Youth meets every Tuesday from 7pm-9pm for students in grades 6-12. There are games and activities, age-appropriate lessons and discussions, and lots of time for just hanging out. Each month we teach a new series about life’s big questions and challenge students to take time to think about God, the world, and their place in it.

We do not have youth-specific programming on Sunday mornings, but our youth typically sit together to listen to the service.
